Psychological counseling (service in progress)

lámpatartó.jpg

As a certified psychologist with PhD, I conduct individual consultations focused on self-awareness and personal development. Whether you're facing challenging life situations or emotional overwhelm, or you're seeking a deeper understanding of yourself – you are not alone. Together, we can explore your background and work together in an authentic, non-judgmental space toward sustainable well-being.

During my psychological studies, I was most influenced by the works of Carl Rogers and Viktor Frankl. Rogers is one of the founders of humanistic psychology, while Frankl created the logotherapy. In a simplified sentence: humanistic psychology focuses on the healthy growth and fulfillment of the personality; while logotherapy centers around finding meaning in life and living a meaningful life. Of course, in my professional practice I have encountered many other authors who have influenced me meaningfully.

When I’m talking with my clients, I primarily strive to understand their perspective—how they see and experience the situation. Meanwhile, I consider potential goals and opportunities that may be useful and provide guidance in the current situation.

Future-Oriented Perspective: Understanding a client’s past is very important to me, but in counseling I tend to focus more on the future: achieving future goals (whether near or distant), or reaching a future state. Through my questions, I also aim to explore which motivations arise from the client’s inner, genuine desires, and which are more influenced by societal expectations.

Metaphorically, I see myself as a lamp-holder, accompanying travelers along their journey.

My key Strengths Within Psychology

Burnout.jpg

Burnout Prevention, Recognition, and Intervention

I worked at a clinic in Austria specializing in psychosomatic illnesses, where many patients' symptoms were linked to burnout. I typically supported them through short-term therapy (about 6 weeks) in coping with psychosocial stressors, discovering mental resources, and developing appropriate self-care plans.

Uniqueness, Specialness, and Divergence from the Environment

As a person with ADHD, I know firsthand what this situation is like. Throughout my work, I’ve often met and worked with children and adolescents who—due to ADHD, Asperger’s syndrome, giftedness (the topic of my dissertation), learning disorders, unique personality traits, sexual orientation, etc. – differed from their environment. This creates a sense of nonconformity, that realization of “I am different from others.” What comes easily to others may not for you; what works well for others may not work for you; what others see as “normal” may not feel normal to you.

Personally, I’ve been collecting experiences related to this since childhood, supplementing them with training, courses, and academic research. The idea of “accepting yourself” is not so simple in practice...

Adapting and Growing Through Changed Life Circumstances or Crises

I’ve moved twice to countries (Denmark and Germany) where I initially didn’t speak the language. I practically started from zero again. My goals and dreams seemed far away. It wasn’t easy. The only thing I relied on was my desire for growth.

When people settle into a comfortable life, they often forget the fighting spirit that got them there. Sometimes, it takes an external factor – a crisis, accident, loss – to help someone realize who they truly are and what their real strengths are.

I encountered this phenomenon many times in my clinical work and know how much it helps psychologically when a person makes even the smallest effort for their future.

The Connection Between Amateur Sports and Psychology

I’ve been an amateur athlete for over 15 years, involved in 8 different sports. In all of them, I’ve managed to develop a sustainable motivation that helps me persist even after setbacks or performance drops. I’ve developed a mindset in which amateur athleticism has become part of my identity. I know I’ll never be a world champion or professional athlete, but I’m still proud of what I’ve achieved – independently of others’ performance.

If someone wants to integrate sports sustainably into their life, developing the right mental attitude is essential in the long term. As a future sporttherapist and personal trainer, I consider mental capacity (willpower) in everyday life, psychosocial stressors, possible crisis situations, emotional blocks, motivation types (success-oriented vs. failure-avoiding), the role of internal/external reinforcement, and the client’s long-term perspective.

Emotional Coping for Men

"Real men don’t cry. Real men don’t show emotions. Real men are tough. Real men endure everything. Real men..." Have you heard these phrases before? I grew up surrounded by them.

It took a lot of time and self-reflective work to put aside these clichés that block emotional development. I know how difficult it can be, as a man, to speak on an emotional level.

That’s why one of my most important goals is to create space for men to talk about their emotions—and to help them understand that expressing emotions doesn't make them any less of a "man," but rather, much more human.
